What is the Dolch List?
In 1948, Edward Dolch, PhD, published a book called Problems in Reading. It listed the most commonly used words in children's books. Based on this research, he created a list of 315 words. Dolch stated that if children could recognise these words by sight, they could learn to read faster and more efficiently.
